The International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC) is hosting the first Interactive Symposium on Ultra-high-performance Concrete (UHPC), which includes a student competition with a finalist team from the University of Ottawa.
Building Lasting Change 2016, the Canada Green Building Council’s (CaGBC’s) national conference and expo is heading to Toronto on June 6 to 8. Attendees can choose from 46 Green Building Certification (GBCI)-accredited sessions and earn up to 16.5 credits in three days. There will be green building tours, a material and health summit, the general meeting, and an expo floor.
Sustainable Buildings Canada (SBC) is hosting the Sustainable Built Environment Conference of the Americas in Toronto from September 19 to 20. Under the theme “Regenerative and Resilient Urban Environments,” the conference expects approximately 500 international environmental stakeholders from industry, academia, and government to explore strategies, projects, and best practices in the sustainable built environment.
Ryerson University hosted its first-ever engineering conference in late March to start a dialogue on how Ontario engineers can play larger roles in the discussion and formation of public policy. The Toronto school’s “Engineers Want In” conference addressed the limited engineering input when discussing public policy with the masses.
Buildex, a two-day tradeshow and conference for the construction, renovation, architecture, interior design, and property management industries, is returning to Vancouver this year. From February 25 to 26, the annual conference held at the Vancouver Convention Centre West expects more than 13,500 attendees. It offers a ‘build-your-own’ conference schedule as each session is individually priced; there will also be more than 600 exhibits, and 50 educational seminars.
