Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) has awarded contracts for a $1.5-billion terminal modernization program. NORR-DIALOG and PCL Construction will upgrade aging infrastructure and improve passenger flow at Canada’s busiest airport.

The Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 Revitalization Program will modernize key passenger areas and support future growth at the airport. The work will improve facilities from curb to gate, including passenger processing areas, gates, and baggage systems. Customs and immigration facilities and lounges also get upgrades.

NORR-DIALOG, a joint venture between two Ontario-incorporated firms, will lead planning, architecture, engineering, and integrated design. PCL Construction was selected as the construction manager at risk.

The project team will work within an active airport environment. Construction will need to maintain ongoing terminal operations while upgrades move forward.

The terminal program is part of a larger, multi-year transformation of Canada’s busiest airport. Pearson LIFT includes multiple construction programs focused on renewing facilities, adding technology, and improving airport operations.
