Toronto’s Rail Deck Reset project team to host public open house

A virtual open house will soon be held to discuss plans for a new-mixed use, open space district above the rail corridor between Bathurst Street and Blue Jays Way.
Discussions on the future of this corridor have taken place over the last year between the city and the project team, which includes SvN Architects + Planners, Sweeny&Co, and McMillan Associates Architects, the original design architect of Rail Deck Park.
The ongoing community engagement program for this project, Rail Deck Reset, reflects how the project team, the City of Toronto, and the public will together explore the full potential of the upcoming district.
An important first step for community engagement, this open house will provide status updates for this project and planning, introduce new project team members, and clarify next steps, including opportunities for public feedback.
A re-zoning application will be prepared for the City of Toronto this spring, to allow for more focused dialogue with both the city and the community. Shortly after this submission, the project team will host additional meetings to provide opportunities for input, as well as share and refine plans for Toronto’s future Rail Deck District.
The virtual open house will take place on Wednesday, February 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees can register on the Rail Deck Reset website.
