GHD has been selected to deliver upgrades at the Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant in Burlington, Ont. The services company will address aging infrastructure and maintain reliable service.

The project will target several critical plant components. The work includes refurbishing secondary clarifiers, rehabilitating anaerobic digesters, and replacing thickened waste-activated sludge pumps.

The upgrades aim to improve plant performance, reduce maintenance risks, and support uninterrupted wastewater treatment for the community.

GHD will lead the project from initial investigations through design, construction support, and commissioning. Its scope will also include contract documents, tendering, contract administration, site inspections, SCADA integration, training, and record documentation.

“By building on our familiarity with the plant, we can take a measured approach to these upgrades and support the continuity of operations for the wider community,” said Don Holland, project director and GHD’s Canadian water leader.

GHD will work with Kusiar Project Services Inc., Eramosa, a CIMA+ company, NCE Value Engineers Inc., TreeFrog Environmental, and T2 Utility Engineers.

The project is part of Halton Region’s ongoing effort to renew essential wastewater infrastructure while maintaining plant operations and long-term service reliability.
