College’s student residence reaches major milestone

Lambton College’s future student residence is taking shape, with construction recently reaching another key milestone. College representatives and project leaders marked the completion of the building’s roof with a traditional topping-off ceremony.
The ceremony took place nearly one year after construction began. As part of the long-standing construction tradition, crews placed a ceremonial tree on the roof to symbolize a successful build.
Representatives from Lambton College, Tilbury Properties Corporation, and Ball Construction attended the event. The project is a public-private partnership with Tilbury Properties Corporation and Fengate Asset Management. The project is the college’s largest capital project to date.
“This milestone represents the continued momentum behind a project that will have a lasting impact on our students and campus community,” said Rob Kardas, president and CEO, Lambton College. “Each step forward brings us closer to providing a modern, supportive living environment where students can connect, grow, and fully engage in the Lambton College experience.”
The purpose-built residence will expand on-campus housing and enhance the student experience. It is scheduled to welcome students in September 2027, the same year Lambton College celebrates its 60th anniversary.
