Vancouver’s Park Board has approved a concept plan for a 1-ha (2.47-acre) neighbourhood park at Burrard Slopes, adding greenspace between Kitsilano and Fairview

The park will include an off-leash dog area, central lawn, meadow walk, skateboard and small-wheels area, fitness zone, washroom, expanded playground, and accessible pathways. The design was shaped by input from local First Nations, businesses, and community members.

Planned features include:

  • large, level lawn at the centre of the park for a range of activities
  • an expanded playground with a seesaw, accessible spinner and swing set, accessible surfacing, and a circuit pathway
  • an enclosed off-leash dog area, separated from lawn and garden spaces
  • a skateboard and small-wheels area designed for a range of ages and abilities
  • pollinator and rain gardens with native and adapted plantings

Detailed design development is set to begin ahead of construction, which is planned for 2027.
