SAMM Developments has broken ground on a six-storey, 95-suite rental community in Moncton, N.B., that will give residents access to amenities typically found in a hotel.

LivMore Magnetic Hill will rise at 2515 Mountain Rd. The project will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, with occupancy expected in May 2028.

SAMM Developments and Dynamic Builders marked the groundbreaking with local officials, including Moncton Ward 3 councillors Juliana Mutch and Bryan Butler.

The project will connect residents to the amenities of the adjacent Days Inn Hotel. These include an enclosed swimming pool, fitness centre, restaurants, banquet facilities, and conference rooms.

“We want to build more than just a building,” said Ali Akman, president of SAMM Developments. “We want to build a community where families have more than just a living space, a place where they can really call home.”

Akman said the project aims to support a healthy lifestyle by combining rental housing with services that residents would not typically find in a rental building.

LivMore represents SAMM’s “Rental Living Beyond the Expected” concept. The model combines purpose-built rental suites with access to a broader range of lifestyle and hospitality amenities.

The Magnetic Hill project is the first “LivMore” project in Moncton. SAMM, which owns and operates hotels across Eastern Canada and Ontario, says there is potential to bring the model to other communities.

The company says the concept builds on its experience operating hotels while applying that expertise to purpose-built rental housing.
