Concert Infrastructure has reached financial close on a public-private partnership (P3) project to build seven new schools across Alberta.

The P3 School Bundle #7 project will deliver new schools for more than 6,100 students in Edmonton, Calgary, and Chestermere. The schools are scheduled to open for the 2028–29 school year.

The project includes four schools in Edmonton, two schools in Calgary’s Redstone community, and one school in Chestermere. The new facilities will support growing communities across Alberta.

Concert-Bird Partners said the project will deliver more than $76 million in value-for-money savings compared with traditional design-bid-build construction. The consortium estimates the P3 model will provide an 18 per cent cost saving for taxpayers.

Under the P3 model, Concert-Bird Partners will lead the design, construction, financing, and long-term maintenance of the schools. The schools will remain publicly owned.

The consortium includes Concert Infrastructure as project lead and financier, Bird Design-Build Construction and Wright Construction Western for construction, BR2 Architecture for design, and Ainsworth for maintenance and renewal services.
