Position Summary

Roofer (NOC 73110) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing roofing systems on residential and commercial buildings to protect them from weather and environmental exposure. The role involves working with various roofing materials and tools, applying waterproofing systems, and ensuring structural durability in compliance with safety standards and industry requirements.

The roofer works closely with site team members to maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations. Responsibilities include inspecting structures and materials to identify damage or weaknesses and performing necessary repairs or reinforcements to ensure long-term structural integrity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

·       Conduct on-site evaluation of roofing conditions to determine the required scope of work

·       Install, repair, and replace roofing systems on residential and commercial structures

·       Apply waterproofing layers, insulation materials, and protective finishes to ensure long-term durability

·       Remove damaged or deteriorated roofing components and restore structural integrity

·       Interpret project specifications and execute roofing work according to technical requirements

·       Work at height in compliance with all safety regulations and fall protection procedures

·       Operate hand and power tools safely in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

·       Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with project and industry standards

·       Work collaboratively with site supervisors and crew members to ensure efficient project completion

·       Provide guidance, supervision, and work direction to junior and apprentice roofers on-site

Training and Experience Qualifications

·       Completion of secondary school is required

·       2-3 years of work experience in the relevant field is usually required

Employment Requirements

·       Ability to work in outdoor construction environments in varying weather conditions

·       Physically capable of manual labour, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods

·       Compliance with workplace health and safety regulations

·       Ability to follow technical instructions and project specifications

·       Willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs

·       Ability to work effectively in a team environment

·       Basic communication skills for on-site coordination

·       Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail

Wage

·       At least 35–40 hours per week at CAD 36.00/hour for 52 weeks per year

·       After 44 hours per week, overtime will be calculated at CAD 54.00/hour
