Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise carpenters, apprentices, and labourers on-site, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
• Coordinate daily site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and building codes to ensure accurate project execution.
• Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks including framing, finishing, renovations, concrete forming, exterior cladding, and custom installations.
• Ensure all work meets Parallel Vision Contracting’s high standards for craftsmanship and quality.
• Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges while communicating solutions to project managers and clients when required.
• Coordinate and collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other construction professionals to maintain workflow and project timelines.
• Assist with material planning, ordering, inventory management, and site logistics.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections and address deficiencies promptly.
• Mentor apprentices and junior carpenters by providing training, guidance, and support for skill development.
• Maintain accurate site records, track project progress, and communicate updates to management.
• Promote and enforce company safety policies while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
• Support the implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives on all projects.
• Represent Parallel Vision Contracting professionally and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and trade partners.
Required Qualifications
• Red Seal Carpentry Certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of carpentry experience, including experience leading crews or supervising projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Extensive knowledge of residential construction methods, building codes, and industry best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physically capable of performing demanding construction work in mountainous terrain and varying weather conditions, including winter conditions.
