The final designs and renderings for Ontario Place’s new public park were recently unveiled by Toronto-based landscape architecture firm LANDinc, in partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Infrastructure Ontario.

Innovative environmental initiatives are at the core of this redevelopment. The park is being rehabilitated through new shoreline protection features, flood mitigation measures, soil remediation and capping.

Envisioned as the green heart of this global destination, LANDinc has reimagined the public park and carefully organized the space into five distinct zones:

A vibrant lakeside park with a wooden walkway, people enjoying the beach, kayakers, and colorful trees, with Toronto's skyline in the background.

  • Brigantine Cove: A north-facing sand beach offering year-round activities, complemented by a nearly 316-m2 (3,400-sf) Indigenous Cultural Pavilion designed in collaboration with rights-bearing First Nations and urban Indigenous groups. This multi-purpose community space will be surrounded by native plantings and diverse habitats.
A vibrant fountain with multicolored water jets entertains visitors in a park, surrounded by trees and blooming flowers at dusk.
The interactive fountain.
  • The Forum: At the heart of the East Island, a 1-acre (0.4-ha) interactive fountain, a Japanese Canadian Centennial Temple bell, and new woodland trails.
A vibrant waterfront park bustling with people, featuring sand volleyball courts, food stalls, and city skyline views, including the CN Tower.
The vibrant new sand beach.
  • The Mainland: The mainland will feature a vibrant new sand beach designed for year-round programming, including food stalls and pop-up events, plus new spaces for lively recreational activities.
A lively marina café with people enjoying drinks, wooden architecture, and a scenic view of sailboats and a dome structure outside.

  • The Marina: The new marina landscape designs feature upgraded shorelines with open-air pavilions, wide promenades, viewing steps and spaces for exploration by foot or boat.
A bustling waterfront scene with people enjoying a promenade, kayakers on the water, and vibrant greenery in the background.

  • The Water’s Edge: Massive stones will form a natural amphitheatre overlooking Lake Ontario.
