POSITION SUMMARY

As Urban One’s Proposal Specialist you will be responsible for leading the proposal development process from inception to submission, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, competitive proposals that align with our values and our company objectives. The Proposal Specialist position is a full-time (40 hours/week), permanent position based out of our Vancouver office.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with business development, estimating and preconstruction teams to develop proposal strategies.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of RFP/RFQ requirements, project scopes and client expectations to tailor proposal approaches.
  • Coordinate kickoff meetings and regular progress reviews to keep the proposal development process on track.
  • Facilitate the development of proposal content, including executive summaries, project overviews, technical solutions and resumes.
  • Work closely with department heads to gather relevant information and ensure accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
  • Write, edit and proofread proposal sections to ensure clarity, coherence and consistency with messaging.
  • Ensure that graphics and visuals communicate the key messaging and enhance the overall impact of the proposal.
  • Review completed proposal to ensure compliance with RFP/RFQ instructions, accuracy, professionalism, and completeness of all proposal submissions.
  • Manage the proposal submission process, including electronic submissions, packaging, and delivery of proposals according to client specifications and deadlines.
  • Maintain a centralized filing system of proposal content, templates and reusable resources for future use.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in area of specialization, computer science, marketing/communications, design studies or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required
  • Proven experience in construction proposal writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign and Photoshop
  • Ability to manage and work effortlessly with Team Leaders
  • Confident personality with the ability to think strategically and help teams develop sound pursuit and proposal strategies
  • Strong English communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills
