Job Overview:

A construction manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of a construction project, from planning to completion. They ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Their role involves managing teams, negotiating contracts, and solving on-site challenges.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

-     Oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they stay on schedule, meet specifications, and stay within budget.

-     Create and submit budget estimates for construction projects.

-     Plan construction schedules, set milestones, and track progress.

-     Draft contracts and negotiate changes with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

-     Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.

-     Conduct site inspections to assess work quality and safety conditions.

-     Handle business matters.

-     Communicate with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and adjust project plans as needed.

-     Manage the purchase of building materials and land.

-     Hire and supervise subcontractors and staff.

-     Resolve conflicts and handle unforeseen challenges that arise during construction.

Qualifications:

-     A university degree in civil engineering or a college diploma in construction technology is preferred

-     Several years of experience in the construction industry, including experience as a construction supervisor or field superintendent, are required

-     Extensive experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements

Wage

-     Salary: $53 per hour for 30 hours a week at 52 weeks a year
