Webinar on CCDC 20: A Guide to Construction Contract Administration

From certifying payments to resolving disputes, the consultant’s position as the contract administrator is critical to the success of every project. Join us on Thursday, September 25 at 13:00 (ET) for a 60-minute session on the consultant’s role as contract administrator.

Register now!

Date: September 25, 13:00-14:00 (ET)
Price: $65 + tax

The consultant, typically an architect or engineer, has duties imposed by both their professional obligations and their contract with the project owner, which may not align with the project owner’s agreement with the contractor. Understanding these constraints and knowing exactly what the contract administrator is responsible for, and the limit of their authority, helps ensure a project proceeds smoothly for all parties. CCDC 20, a guide published in 2024, helps users understand this important role. During this 60-minute webinar, a CCDC document author will explain the critical considerations when it comes to the administration of a construction contract.

Topics covered:

  • Review of the work and who has the authority to reject work
  • The project owner, contractor, and consultant’s roles in ensuring payment timelines are met
  • The necessary impartiality of the consultant
  • Handling conflicts between the consultant’s contract and the construction contract
  • Other critical processes including changes, submittals, closeout, and more

The presentation will conclude with a Q&A period, giving attendees a chance to pose their questions directly to a CCDC document author.

This webinar will be presented in English only. Automated transcriptions are available in other languages.
