Designers Walk, a famed designer-focused community in Toronto, confirms the Project, a luxury condominium and commercial use space venture in the city’s Annex neighbourhood.

This project offers tenants a unique experience to immerse themselves in the design experience. This is not just a place to work or live in; at the Project, the tenants are considered members and a part of the luxury design community, a press release from Designers Walk said.

“For us, fostering and supporting our professional community has been at the centre of everything we do,” said Joab Igra, founder, Designers Walk. “We are building a hub in which architects and designers will be able to live and work in the centre of Canada’s design industry, giving them unprecedented opportunity and access to our community.”

The 22-storey luxury complex incorporates unique features such as a vertical forest, over 929 m2 (10,000 sf) of flagship retail and Designers Walk showroom, and offices for award-winning design and architectural firms.

The Designers Walk team is committed to providing unmatched added benefits to its residential and commercial tenants (to be known as members), Designers Walk said. The affluent Annex neighbourhood offers residents a unique and luxurious upmarket experience with close proximity to shops, restaurants, and galleries.

“Designers Walk is known as a destination for Toronto’s designers and architects to source and procure show-stopping design elements for their clients, and as a home-base for prominent firms,” said Igra. “This new chapter with our expansion into residential real estate allows us to bring that beauty and experience to all those who want to live in a space that is truly unique and forward-thinking.”

The Project is slated for completion by end-2023.

  1. Would LOVE to know how much a designer needs to make in order to afford a unit in this ‘luxury design community’ – and how many designers actually meet this threshold.
