Construction has begun on Claystone Condos, a seven-storey condominium project in Oakville’s Bronte neighbourhood.

Graywood Properties and Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp. (HHP) marked the start of construction on Sept. 18, with executives from both companies and representatives from the Town of Oakville in attendance.

Claystone is the partners’ first joint development in Canada. HHP selected Graywood as its Canadian development partner in January 2025, identifying Claystone as its first Canadian investment.

Diamond Schmitt Architects is leading the building design. The project will feature a wave-like facade inspired by its Lake Ontario setting.

Patton Design Studio designed the interiors, drawing on Scandinavian and Japanese design principles. The interiors emphasize natural materials, simple forms, and open spaces.

The development will include suites of up to approximately 170 m² (1,830 sf). Its penthouse levels will feature wide, shallow floor plans intended to improve livability.

The project will also include approximately 604 m² (6,500 sf) of at-grade retail space.

Planned amenities include a fitness studio, indoor and outdoor lounges, a dog run, a co-working space, and at-grade bicycle parking.

The project is located near Bronte and Oakville GO stations and the Queen Elizabeth Way.
