Code of practice for low-voltage DC power distribution

The Institution of Engineering and Technology has published Code of Practice for Low and Extra Low Voltage Direct Current Power Distribution in Buildings to ensure the safe, effective and competent application of cabling/wiring installations.

Its coverage includes:

  • requirements for design, specification, selection, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance;
  • solutions for telecommunications cabling, use of existing alternating current (AC) wiring and new DC wiring infrastructure; and
  • recognized standards for DC power distribution, as well as proprietary power systems.

The document will be useful to designers, installers, and operators of low-voltage power distribution in buildings
