Northcrest, the lead developer of ‘YZD’ in Toronto, has welcomed its first vice-president of construction to lead the construction of the 149+ ha (370+ acre) transformation of Downsview Airport lands.

Beau Brooker is transforming the site into seven new neighbourhoods, which will be home to 55,000 residents and will create 23,000 new jobs.

Spearheading one of the largest urban development projects in Toronto, Brooker has extensive experience shaping complex, large-scale urban development projects in Canada and around the world. He led the construction of the ICE District, a $2.5-billion mixed-use sports and entertainment area in downtown Edmonton, and most recently led construction for residential high-rise builder Edenshaw Developments Limited.
