The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) has awarded professor Peter Jacobs, AAPQ, FCSLA, FASLA, with its 2020 Governor General’s Medal in Landscape Architecture (GGMLA). The GGMLA is the highest honour bestowed on a landscape architect by CSLA.
Samantha Menard, manager with EQ Building Performance’s energy team, is the recipient of the 2020 Emerging Green Leader Award from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). The Emerging Green Leader Award recognizes a deserving student or young professional who has made a significant contribution to advocating, educating, or practicing green building, and community development.

The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) announced the winners of its 2020 Leadership and Green Building Excellence Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding industry leadership and have made significant contributions to the council’s mission to advance green building in Canada.
The Toronto Chapter has won the 2020 Lloyd Boddy Chapter of the Year Award. This award recognizes the chapter’s efforts in meeting the goals of the association through professional development opportunities, spirit and participation in the local industry, and CSC committees.

The editorial competition managed by Mediacorp Canada in conjunction with The Globe and Mail reviews thousands of applications from private sector companies. Submissions are now open for Construction Canada’s 2nd Annual Emerging Leader Awards. The awards recognize members of the AEC community who demonstrate excellence, impress and inspire their co-workers, and are well on their way to becoming the next leaders in the profession.
The B.C. Construction Association (BCCA) and Minerva B.C. has opened nominations for the 2nd annual Builders Code Champion Awards, which celebrate B.C. companies that are proactively addressing the issues of equity, discrimination, and harassment in the province’s construction sector.
