Activity Summary:
This presentation explores the relationship between concrete curing, moisture retention and the moisture limitations of floor covering installations. Attendees will gain an overview of common concrete moisture testing methods, including in-situ relative humidity, anhydrous calcium chloride and Electrical Impedance Testing (EIT), and learn hoe these methods inform flooring readiness decisions. The session highlights practical considerations related to testing conditions, standards and construction sequencing.

Objectives:

  1. Newly placed concrete dry times.
  2. The 3 main concrete slab moisture test method and why they are each important.
  3. Who performs the tests on site.
  4. What flooring systems need for passing (dry) test results and why.
  5. Where to find free NFCA specification resources.
