The winners[2] of Construction Canada’s inaugural Emerging Leader Awards were announced at the Buildings Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on December 4.
The awards, presented by Engineered Assemblies[3], honour members of the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) community who demonstrate excellence, impress and inspire their co-workers, and are well on their way to becoming the next leaders in the profession.
Here are the recipients of the 2019 Emerging Leader Awards.
Emerging Leader Awards – Teamwork and Jury’s Choice
Mark Gaglione, P.Eng., construction sciences specialist at EllisDon Construction[4], Mississauga, Ont.
Emerging Leader Award – Initiative
Kazim (Kaz) Kanani, CSP, CCCA, senior associate and specification specialist at Quadrangle Architects[5], Toronto.
Emerging Leader Award – Leadership
Heather Barnsley, architect, AAA, AIBC, president of Ti STUDIOS Architecture[6], Calgary, Alta.
Emerging Leader Award – Technology Advancement
Kelly Fisher, CPHC, director of BIM and building performance at Kearns Mancini Architects[7], Toronto.
Emerging Leader Award – Community Contribution
Emma Cubitt, OAA, MRAIC, LEED AP, principal at Invizij Architects[8], Hamilton.
Emerging Leader Award – Industry Contribution
Deborah Bryne, C.Eng., MIEI, CPHD, LEED AP, COO at Kearns Mancini Architects, Toronto.
