BMO (Bank of Montreal) has unveiled the recently opened BMO Academy, a state-of-the-art learning, training, and collaboration centre within BMO Place in the heart of Yonge-Dundas in Toronto, Ont.

The BMO Academy is inspired by the ripple effect of water, symbolizing connection, influence, and growth.

The design process began by exploring water ripples and through abstract explorations. Zeidler Architecture captured the essence of this movement and translated it into the design.

At the heart of the academy lies a grand stairwell.

At the heart of the academy lies a grand stairwell, serving as both a visual centrepiece and a functional pathway. White guardrails, stainless-steel railings, and glass finishes contrast with the natural wood accents and step floor lighting. Material finishes also draw inspiration from the natural environment, including the ocean, pebbles, and tree rings, which are reflected by a light blue, soft grey, light wood, and pale concrete colour palette.

Luxurious white interiors, contemporary metal accents, and transparent glass partitions establish a sense of openness.

BMO Academy was designed to support every learning style, offering a variety of spaces that accommodate the full spectrum of physical and cognitive needs.
