The Role

VanDel Construction is currently seeking 3 energized and motivated full-time construction labourers. The candidates will assist skilled tradespersons, operate heavy machinery, and follow all site health and safety policies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform setup and cleanup tasks on job site
• Load or unload construction materials
• Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures
• Provide assistance to contractors
• Assist supervisors and colleagues when necessary
• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
• Comply with local building codes and health and safety regulations

·         Demolition work - Participate in selective demolition by dismantling building components, removing structural elements, and preparing areas for reconstruction while maintaining safe work practices.

·         Removing rubble and debris - Clear construction debris, waste materials, and obstructions from work areas to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free site environment.

·         Directing traffic at construction sites - Manage on‑site vehicle and pedestrian flow by implementing traffic control measures that ensure safety and minimize disruptions around active construction zones.

·         Tending machines like mixers, compressors, pumps - Monitor and support the operation of construction machinery such as mixers, compressors, and pumps to maintain consistent performance and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• 3 Years of Construction industry experience required
• Physically fit, hardworking and self-motivated
• Experience with tools and machinery is an asset
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
• Valid Class G driver’s license preferred
• Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment that is focused on quality, safety, productivity and customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues
• Workers must be punctual and reliable
• Desire to learn and grow within our company

Salary

·         $30.00 per hour – minimum 44-hour work week with overtime available
