Framing Prairie skies: A workplace shaped by horizon and geometry

The Dow Diamond Centre, a distinctive new facility designed by Lemay in close collaboration with York Construction, welcomed its first occupants this month in Fort Saskatchewan.
The building creates an architectural landmark and provides a functional, efficient workplace for up to 200 staff.
Juxtaposing the relationship between the earth and Alberta’s big Prairie skies, the geometrical composition of this hub’s precast concrete and glass curtain walls references Dow’s iconic logo’s diamond shape in its massing.
Calm colour palettes, layered textures, and refined materials establish a cohesive monochromatic foundation, strategically punctuated by the company’s bold red to create striking accents and intuitive wayfinding.
Shared spaces, including multiple conference rooms, a large auditorium, fitness and commissary facilities, outdoor dining, and a centrepiece common area, are designed to encourage co-ordination across teams and bring people together.
