CSC Calgary[1] is holding a virtual lunch meeting on prompt payment and Alberta’s Builders’ Lien Act on Tuesday, February 9, from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

On October 21, 2020, the Alberta Legislature tabled amendments to Alberta’s Builders’ Lien Act to overhaul the remedies available to unpaid contractors. Fundamentally, Bill 37, The Builders’ Lien (Prompt Payment) Amendment Act, 2020, will introduce strict timelines for the payment of invoices and create an adjudication structure to allow parties to resolve construction disputes expeditiously outside of the courts. Join the event to learn more.

Alexis Barr-Gusa, partner with Dentons Canada LLP, and Jonathan Hillson, a member of the litigation and dispute resolution group of Dentons’ Edmonton office, will be speaking at the event.
