Breaking ground on a healthier future

The Ontario government is investing an additional $8.9 million to support the redevelopment and expansion of Oak Valley Health’s Uxbridge Hospital site.
Construction is now underway at Uxbridge Hospital, marking a milestone in the transformation of health-care in the region.
Responding to Uxbridge’s growing and aging population’s increasing demand for health services, the redevelopment project will deliver a larger, state-of-the-art facility designed to provide modern, integrated care.
Once complete, the new Uxbridge Hospital will support higher patient capacity, reduce wait times, and expand essential services such as diagnostic imaging, cardiorespiratory care, laboratory, and pharmacy. It will also enhance access to inpatient, emergency, and ambulatory care.
The design prioritizes environments that support caregiver and staff wellness and encourage family involvement. The facility will provide expanded family spaces, dedicated wellness and respite areas for staff, and flexible layouts that adapt to changing patient volumes while fostering team cohesion and safety. It will also include areas designed to promote learning and collaboration.
As a next step, the government is working with Oak Valley Health and Infrastructure Ontario to issue the Request for Proposals to tender this project.
