Atlantic Canada’s outstanding green building projects were recently honoured by the Canada Green Building Council[2] (CaGBC) with the 2018 CaGBC Atlantic Chapter Green Building Awards[3].
The Maple, a residential development in downtown Halifax by Southwest Properties[4], won in the category of Excellence in Green Building – New Construction. It is targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
Metropolitan Place, owned by Choice Properties REIT[5] and only one of three EnergyStar[6] “First Certifications in Canada” from Atlantic Canada, won for Excellence in Green Building – Existing Building.
The Wilkinson Warehouses[7] in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and the only industrial multitenant project for the CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Building Standard[8] (ZCB), won in the Zero Carbon category.
