The technology uses ultraviolet (UV)-C light to scramble the DNA of micro-organisms—such as mould, bacteria, viruses, and allergens—and prevents them from reproducing. The UVGI lights are typically positioned downstream in an air-handling unit (AHU) facing the coils.
