New Ontario housing project to rely on geothermal system for HVAC
Enbridge Sustain, an energy solutions company, and SEAN, a developer of sustainable housing, will build a new 73-unit townhome and condo community in Barrie that will be sustainably heated and cooled using a dedicated geothermal system. This will allow the homes to gain EnergyStar certification and be labelled net-zero ready.

Sustainable building solutions company, Lafarge Canada, a member of Holcim Group, has switched to producing a new brand of low-carbon cement, offering a minimum of 30 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions per tonne (ton) in comparison to Portland cement.
