Key Responsibilities:

  • Site investigation and evaluation of existing buildings, including high level review of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Preparation of high level Building Condition Assessment reports and Depreciation Reports with assistance from other engineering disciplines if needed.
  • Development of Capital Plans for buildings.
  • Analysis to determine effective repair alternatives
  • Coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Client liaison


Professional Qualifications:


  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering – Preference for those candidates with completed courses in Building Science OR
  • Diploma or Certificate from a Technology Institute
  • Registered as an Engineer-In-Training with EGBC OR
  • Registered as Applied Science Technologist or similar designation



  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in facilities and maintenance engineering OR
  • Minimum 2 years experience completing full Building Condition Assessment and/or Depreciation Report/Reserve Fund Studies



  • Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally
  • Demonstrated and effective communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Good command of computer skills and ability to learn and work with various types of software
  • Aptitude for working with existing facilities
  • Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Effective and proven leadership skills
  • Hard worker, ready to assume responsibility quickly and have fun at the same time
  • Inquisitive, clear thinker who can determine what work is required and who can draw rational conclusions from information available
  • Ability to conceptualize in three dimensions
