| Deadline looming for Tony Woods' award nominations |

Last year's winner of the Tony Woods Award, A. Tamasin Sterner, won for her national impact on home performance contractor training and her pioneering work in low-income weatherization. Do you know an individual who demonstrated dedication and activism in the home performance industry this past year? The deadline to nominate someone for the 2012 Tony Woods Award for Excellence in Advancing the Home Performance Industry is the end of this week. Building Performance Institute's (BPI's) Leslie McDowell told Construction Canada Online there is a lot of work to be done to develop awareness and demand from consumers, and skills in the home performance workforce. This award recognizes the individual who has most advanced the home performance industry over the past year. The BPI criteria includes one or more of the following: BPI is also seeking lifetime achievement nominations for individuals who have over the course of their career made significant and lasting contributions to the building performance industry. The award is named after Tony Woods, a home performance industry expert and frequent contributor to Construction Canada, who passed away in 2009 after a battle with cancer. Individuals have until Friday, February 17 at 5 p.m. to submit nominations.
