It uses hot-dip galvanized steel and paint for superior corrosion protection of its intricate panels.
The winner of AGA's Artistic category was Women of the Future, a Sherbrooke, Quebec, project. The twisted hot-dip galvanized steel ribbons depict the spirits of two women freed from the conditions of abuse, created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of a local women's shelter. Four Canadian projects were among the winners of the American Galvanizers Association's (AGA's) 2010 Excellence in Hot-dip Galvanizing Awards. The North American awards were developed to honour the year's most outstanding hot-dip galvanized steel projects. There are 12 project categories, with each having one winner as independently judged by architects and engineers. The highest honour across all categories is the "Most Distinguished" designation, which was won by the Deltaport Third Berth Expansion project in Delta, B.C.
