To showcase the many uses, the Canadian Glass Association (CGA) is hosting a one-day trade show this fall. The Canadian Glass Association (CGA) will be hosting its first one-day conference and trade show this September. According to CGA's Chris Skalkos, the inaugural event comes from a perceived need for a show specifically for the glass and metal sectors. "The glass industry is in constant flux; there are several new products and technologies coming online and Leadership in Energy and Environmental design (LEED) is playing an important role in how we glaze buildings and what products and materials need to be specified to meet LEED requirements," he told Construction Canada Online. "Glass Connections 2010" will take place in Vancouver on September 30 at the Delta Burnaby Hotel & Conference Centre, and will present the latest technologies for the glass and metal industry used to improve the productivity of glazing building envelopes. It is intended for specifiers, architects/engineers, glaziers, installers, and building owners. Seminars will cover various industry topics, including photovoltaic technology, heat treatment of glass, insulating glass and manufacturing, training and retaining apprentices, and building code energy efficiencies.
