Tony Woods established methods of calculating potential energy savings from leakage control work, and spent years developing ways to diagnose building envelope flaws.

The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is looking for nominees for its home energy performance award.

The Tony Woods Award for Excellence in Advancing the Home Performance Industry will be presented to an individual this coming April.

The honour goes to someone who has:
• promoted quality assurance for the home performance industry;
• developed new standards and certifications;
• expanded home performance with Energy Star programs; and
• demonstrated success in professionalizing the industry.

The award is named after Tony Woods, an energy efficiency expert and frequent author to Construction Canada, who passed away on May 8, after a battle with cancer.

The nomination deadline is March 10, and the award will be given at the Affordable Comfort Inc. (ACI) National Conference in Texas in April.

Last year's winner, the inaugural recipient, was Laverne Dalgleish.
