Toronto: Green roofing dinner discussion

On Tuesday, January 19, the monthly CSC Toronto Chapter dinner meeting will deal with aspects of green roofing.

The speaker, Douglas C. Fishburn (Fishburn Building Sciences Group) was involved in the development of education courses sponsored by Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) and the Roof Consultants Institute (RCI); he also participated on the Review and Design Committee for green roof fire and wind standards by the Single Ply Roofing Industry (SPRI).

In the context of Toronto's new green roof bylaw, Fishburn will examine advantages and limitations associated with these vegetated assemblies, outlining appropriate design measures and details associated with good practices.

The event will be held at the Toronto Skating Curling and Cricket Club, with dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $40 for members, $50 for non-members, or $55 at the door. Reservations can be made with Donna Fournier at (888) 494-9350.
