| Calling contestants for International Student Competition |
Photo © DreamsTime Designed by John Andrews Architects (in association with WZMH Architects), Toronto's CN Tower could be a good candidate for a new student modelling competition. The International Union of Architects (UIA) has launched a competition to create image models of significant 20th century architectural creativity examples. The contest allows students to use Autodesk design tool software to produce the models, which are to be based on digital photographs. Entrants are allowed to choose the structure they want to represent—from an unknown building to a major landmark—as long as it was built between 1901 and 2000. The entries can be architectural descriptions based on panoramic images or 3-D models of the structure's current state. Competitors can register at www.archi.fr/3D_20th until March 26, with submissions planned for April.
