A new MasterFormat division specifically for Wastewater Equipment is coming along the pipeline.

CSC and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) are seeking feedback on proposed changes to MasterFormat's Process Equipment Subgroup. Until January 22, design/construction professionals can share their thoughts on a new Division 46–Water and Wastewater Equipment, and substantial changes to Division 44–Pollution and Waste Control Equipment.

In 2007, the Environmental Engineers Coalition (EEC) presented concerns to members of the MasterFormat Maintenance Task Team (MFMTT) regarding the way the organizational standard dealt with water/wastewater treatment. Since then, suggestions have been made to improve how MasterFormat treats subjects relative to environmental construction.

After reading the draft, comments can be posted to CSI's forums or e-mailed to MFMTT liaison This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  (with the phrase "Division 46 commentary" in the subject line).

CSC and CSI are planning to publish an updated MasterFormat for the spring.
