Calling Copper Award entries for 2010

The Grey Bruce Health Centre, in Owen Sound, Ont., won a New Construction Award at the 2009 North American Copper in Architecture Awards.

The deadline to enter the 2010 North American Copper in Architecture Awards (NACIA) is quickly approaching.

The Canadian Copper & Brass Development Association (CCBDA), in collaboration with the United States' Copper Development Association (CDA), is looking for nominations for this year's awards competition. The deadline to enter is January 31.

The goal of the program is to recognize and forward creative use of copper and its alloys in designing residential and commercial building projects throughout Canada and the United States.

Projects are honoured under the categories of restoration and new construction. Canadian award winners from last year include:
• Restoration: St. Patrick's Basilica in Montreal–Werleman Guy McMahon Architects;
• Restoration: New Brunswick Legislative Assembly Building in Fredericton–D.M. Steeves & Associates; and
• New Construction: Grey-Bruce Health Centre in Owen Sound, Ont.–Lett Architects and Salter Pilon Architecture
