Enviro Foam Insulation, a sprayfoam insulation company, has won the Business Development Bank of Canada's (BDC's) 2009 Young Entrepreneur Award for Alberta. The company's leadership team of four brothers—Steve (31), Matt (30), Chris (27), and Mike Baines (22)—were in Ottawa last month to receive the honour, which recognizes the business and leadership accomplishments of Canadians between the ages of 19 and 35. "With the skilled help of his brothers, Steve took a product he felt passionately about and used his marketing savvy to build a business ideally positioned to capitalize on the demand for energy-efficient homes and green solutions," explained BDC president/CEO Jean-René Halde. Enviro Foam offers a Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC)-approved, soy-based, closed cell urethane spray foam. It now has 29 dealers across the country, a contractor network, and a line of consumer do-it-yourself (DIY) products for gap-sealing. The company's plans for expansion include 350 locations in major centres across North America by 2020.
