CSC Hamilton/Niagara rainscreen seminar tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Hamilton/Niagara Chapter is holding a lunchtime presentation on ventilated rainscreen façades.

On September 17, guest speakers John Kubassek and Blair Davies (Engineered Assemblies Inc.) will examine the impact these systems have on building performance, exploring the technical aspects and construction methods of specific case study examples.

Their talk focuses on rear-ventilated pressure-equalized rainscreen façade assemblies, which allow water to dry out, rather than become permanently trapped. The discussion will touch on energy efficiency, costs, and strategies for both retrofits and new construction.

Held at Burlington, Ont.'s Royal Canadian Legion (828 Legion Road), the event gets underway at 11:30 a.m., and qualifies for Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) self-directed hours. Admission is $25, including lunch. For more information, contact the chapter's director, Terry Johnson, FCSC, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
