The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) is seeking nominees for its annual professional awards, which recognize architects, engineers, and contractors who use the site-cast concrete method on North American projects. As discussed in the January 2009 issue of Construction Canada, tilt-up concrete's use in Canada has dramatically increased over the last few years. The Murray Parker Memorial Award is named after the late vice-president and general manager of B.D. Stevens Ltd., a Dartmouth, N.S., construction firm. Parker was known for his development and promotion of tilt-up throughout the Atlantic Provinces, where many had thought it would be difficult to use the process.
Other awards include: For more in-depth description of the awards, visit www.tilt-up.org/awards.
