| New designations for CSC members |
|
Professional development is an important hallmark of belonging to CSC. Over the last few months, members have achieved their designations in the Registered Specification Writer (RSW), Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA), and Certified Technical Representative (CTR) programs. RSW The RSW designation demonstrates a person's combined knowledge, experience, and judgment related to construction procurement. Registered specification writers are contract documentation specialists with a broad knowledge base and strategic insight to strengthen a design team. John L. Karman, of the Edmonton Chapter, is the association's newest RSW. CCCA The Certified Construction Contract Administrator designation recognizes those who administer constructors on a construction project to follow the requirements of a contract. The course's objective is improving construction contract administration by providing education related to the understanding, administration, and enforcement of contract conditions during the project's bidding and construction phases. Scott Vanderschoor (Ottawa Chapter) has achieved this distinction. CTR The Certified Technical Representative program was developed to provide professional recognition to individuals marketing and distributing products and materials to the building industry. Certification to this designation demonstrates knowledge of the construction process and its participants, along with independent and objective adherence to the highest quality of product representation. New CTRs include three members of the Vancouver Chapter: Bruce Keller, Lisa Dalton, and Nathan Thompson.
