John Patkau, FRAIC, and Patricia Patkau, FRAIC—the recipients of this year's Gold Medal from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).

Moriyama is not the only one to recently receive national honours, however. The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) has announced Winnipeg-born, Vancouver-based architects John Patkau, FRAIC, and Patricia Patkau, FRAIC, as the recipients of the 2009 Gold Medal.

The team, who founded Patkau Architects 30 years ago, are Honorary Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and Members of the Order of Canada. They will be featured speakers at the RAIC Festival of Architecture and Forum held in Montreal this June.
