Air barrier seminar in Burlington, Ont.

Design/construction professionals seeking more insight on the use of fluid-applied membrane air barriers in above-grade exterior wall assemblies can head to Burlington, Ont., on March 19.

Brian Carey, CSI, CDT, will be discussing how these materials can be specified to improve building energy efficiency and prevent moisture problems. The technical committee chair of the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), Carey has extensive experience with such systems. His presentation addresses the advantages and limitations of fluid-applied systems, including material chemistry, application techniques, detailing, substrates, and spray equipment.

The lunchtime seminar, presented by Construction Specifications Canada's (CSC's) Hamilton/Niagara Chapter, qualifies for Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) self-directed hours. It takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion at 828 Legion Road.
