Think tank: The ASTM International meetings give industry professionals the opportunity to discuss topics relating to building performance and the environment. These gatherings aim to promote knowledge and stimulate research, development, and maintenance of relevant standards.

In April, two ASTM International meetings will take place in Vancouver. Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings will hold its biannual meeting April 19 to 22 at the Hyatt Regency. At this gathering, which is open to all interested individuals, a diverse range of topics will be covered, such as axial compression test of vertical members, air barrier systems, and masonry fireplaces.

ASTM's Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management, and Corrective Action will also be meeting at the hotel, from April 21 to 23. Open to design/construction professionals as well, subjects to be discussed include storage tanks, real estate management, and pollution prevention.
