CaGBC's president and CEO, Thomas Mueller, believes cross-sector commitment and collaboration is key to facilitating building performance improvements.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions might take the plunge with Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and BC Hydro's new collaboration. The two organizations have joined forces to help lower GHG emissions of British Columbia's buildings through energy conservation. This initiative aims to improve the design, construction, operation, and occupation of buildings by:
• creating customer-focused programs for energy conservation;
• using joint training programs to increase the number and skill level of industry professionals focused on energy efficiency;
• developing demonstration projects featuring sustainable communities and energy infrastructure; and
• looking for opportunities to promote the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
