The USGBC is bringing Greenbuild to Toronto in 2011.

Construction Canada has confirmed the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) will be bringing its Greenbuild International Conference and Expo to Toronto in 2011. The event is set to take place from Tuesday, October 4 to Friday, October 7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

This marks the first time the annual sustainability show has been held outside the United States. Last year's Greenbuild took place in Chicago, Ill., drawing 22,726 design/construction professionals from more than 60 countries. The 2008 event will be held in Boston, Mass., from November 19 to 21, with Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu as the keynote speaker. (Past guests have included environmentalist David Suzuki and former U.S. president, Bill Clinton.)
