Online PCD course begins in mid-September

Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) is currently offering an online version of its Principles of Construction Documentation (PCD) course, with classes set to begin September 15.

The introductory program is designed to provide a better understanding of construction documentation (i.e. specifications, drawings, and schedules), products, bidding procedures, and contracts. PCD emphasizes the relationship between specifications and drawings, and is designed for any individual involved in the construction industry who produces, reads, supplies products for, or relies on the project manual/specification.

As the most basic course offered by CSC, Principles of Construction Documentation serves as a prerequisite for the Certified Technical Representative (CTR) and the Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) designations. (Successful completion of PCD may also be credited toward experience component requirements for the Registered Specification Writer [RSW] designation.)

The online format of the course includes tutorials, references, documents, contracts, and technical support. Taking PCD over the Internet not only allows participation from design professionals located far from traditional classroom settings, but it also enables flexibility and self-paced learning.
