| Daylighting talk in Hamilton/Niagara this summer |
|
CSC's Hamilton/Niagara Chapter is hosting a daylighting lunch seminar next month. The August 12 talk covers polycarbonate skylights, light walls, canopies, and walkway covers. Speaker Blair Davies (Engineered Assemblies) will discuss how the material compares to glass in terms of insulation, light quality, and price, highlighting its various esthetic capabilities. To illustrate these points, he will also use case studies such as the Richmond Skating Oval in British Columbia and various schools. As with all Hamilton/Niagara Chapter events, the seminar takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion (828 Legion Road) in Burlington, Ont. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at noon and the presentation lasting until 2 p.m. Cost is $25, and reservations can be made through Terry Johnson, FCSC, via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . The seminar qualifies for Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) self-directed learning points. |
