This year's CitiesAlive conference is a three-day event that will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The eighth annual CitiesAlive Green Roof and Wall Conference is coming to Vancouver to celebrate green roofs and walls and how they relate to environmental, social, and economic needs on a local, regional, and global level.

This year's conference will focus on integrated design and contributions to climate change solutions with new projects and markets, new policies, and research opportunities designed to maximize widespread green roof and wall implementation.

"We're expecting about 1500 people from all over North America and around the world," Steven Peck, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) president, told Construction Canada Online. "It's a lot of fun, and it's a very energetic and lively bunch. Having these conferences brings people together to discuss what's happening in the industry and advance the policy agenda."

CitiesAlive will include a formal reception, local tours, networking sessions, new training courses, Green Roof Professional accreditation testing, and a new integrated water management educational seminar for attendees to participate in.

The three-day event is being held by GRHC and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) from November 30 to December 3. It will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, home of the largest green roof in Canada.
